IUP WEEK

This upcoming week for Rock Football is one of the most anticipated weeks of the entire season. This week the Rock (3-1) will go up against hated rivals IUP. The rivalry between these two schools is amazing and there aren't too many rivalries like it anywhere else in college football. The practices this week are to be some of the most physically and mental tough practices for the whole season. The intense preparation is crucial in the performance for the upcoming game. The Rock would absolutely love a win this week because its been two years since they've tasted victory and thats two year too long.

Time to Recover for the Rock

The Rock is now 3-1, and for most teams that would be OK, but the Rock is held to a higher standard. The rock gathered this Sunday to regroup as a team and learn from what they did in the last game. The day of recouping started out with a weight training session up in the Jerry Biejbl weight room. Lifting helps all the players work out their soreness from the game the night before. After lifting the players reported to meetings with the coaches. They talked about the last game and what they learned from it. After that players broke up into their position groups and reviewed film from the game. All this extra time is important for getting ready for the next opponent.

Rock vs Edinboro

This past Saturday the Rock traveled up Interstate 79 to face off against conference rivals the Edinboro Fighting Scotts. The Rock came into the game at 3-0 and Edinboro came at 2-1. This game was to be payback for the Rock, after suffering a tough home loss last year to the Fighting Scotts. The Rock got on the board early with and early score. The Fighting Scotts came back with a score of their own, to tie the game. In the second half the Rock went up by 3 with a field goal by kicker C.J. Bahr. Edinboro then counter that score with a long touchdown pass of their own. The Rock fought back with only minutes remaining in the game and score a rushing touchdown with only a minute to spare. The Fighting Scotts offense was too much to handle and with some late game help from the referees, the Scotts were able to drive down the field and score a touchdown to win the game.

The Rock is 3-0!!!!

The Rock is now 3-0 after defeating Kutztown 27-24 this past Saturday. The game was a tough battle and there was drama throughout the whole game. The Rock was never really supposed to have a real chance at winning this game, but all the players banded together and fought for the victory. The game was clinched by a 25 yard run by sophmore running back Sayquan Scott Mitchell. It was also nice to come out with a win at this game because there was a 5 hour bus ride waiting for the Rock, and 5 hours on a bus after a loss is no fun.
